At home in the UK, Shahid’s television appearances are varied and numerous, spanning many years. Earlier Shows include ‘The David Nixon Magic Show’ featuring a very young Shahid and the original ‘Bed of Nails Escape’ – much imitated in the following years.
Other highlights include Shahid’s appearance as the first & only Stage Magician to appear on the top rated ‘Wogan’ BBC TV Show – producers having seen the Cardboard Box Illusion and insisting he appear on the programme.
On the ITV1 Special ‘An Evening Without Jeremy Beadle’, celebrating the life of the UK funny man, Shahid was invited to appear as a special guest, as Jeremy’s favourite Magician, performing Jeremy’s favourite Illusion – Shahid’s ‘Slicing a Girl in 2’!
‘Live from the Palladium’ is another career high. Uniquely asked to appear twice – his first appearance being the first time a Magician had been invited to perform. Changing Lisa into a fully grown Bengal Tiger – 'live' – to a TV audience of 16 million viewers caused an overnight sensation. His second appearance saw Shahid make a baby elephant appear live on stage!
Shahid has featured in his own TV Programmes both at home and in his native Pakistan, receiving much critical acclaim. His Channel 4 Special, ‘All Tied Up’, left viewers on a real edge-of-the-seat, nail-biting finish which then lead to numerous appearances around Europe and a call from Sir Paul McCartney’s Office the following morning to book Shahid for the music mogul’s prestigious Christmas Party.
